Love and loss...

A sad one…Love and loss…

And over the semblance of yolks my yearnings kept

Bindings of secrets when my ferried sighs drew near

I named thee Sweet Valentine in loquacious silence

And in the boundless deep I sang of yonder souvenir.

Fainteth not my soul! I must be weary and love-veiled

Thou art my fairy till time henceforth beguiles no more

And scenes laid where sleeping witnesses scorneth death

It shall be fitting in nature’s pride, twain destiny in store.

Exprest this sadness with liberty and nib of a poet’s pen

And eyes bedewed by tearful mourn and pinings repaid

Hail not death! Hail life;though all must justly obeyeth

Fondly I wail heavenward with phrensied woe dismayed.

wow, Sami...what a vibrant, poignant piece this is.
love the texture and feel of it...the depth you've penned here. My favorite line is this: And scenes laid where sleeping witnesses scorneth death

Nicely done, my friend!

"Fainteth not my soul! I must be weary and love-veiled"

Ahhh . . . What a magnificent line, and one which "spoke" to me. The subject of this so well-constructed poem is dear to my heart. I can see from the above comments I am not alone in my thinking.

as always, your pen weaved a tapestry of splendid jewels, evocative of indeed woe...exquisite use of language, meter and depth...that immerses the reader. the last stanza,
is remarkably poignant and beautifully worded.

i feel this one way too much, due to current circumstances. --
thank you for sharing...b. :))

I think Donne would have been proud to have written this. Even down to the Elizabethan spelling.

My friend Sami. A magical journey in your words. You said so much, using so few words. The magic of a talented writer. Steal the reader's thoughts. This poem did. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
