Somber Waves                    by Sami Khalil

Meet me at the bottom

of somber waves,

hiding ourselves

from drunken winds.

Sadly, fears stay afloat,

drawing blanks

from sunken ships.

Bridge these chasms,

where moments flood us,

beneath pallid, ailing skies.

Honor love in its drowning storms,

for they have no advance warnings,

no guarantees after, but to feel valuable enough,

when counting safety measures and sunset dooms.

Meet me at the bottom, dearie-

beyond the brick-and-mortar skyline.

This poem flows beautifully and love the imagery. I'd meet at the bottom where love never drowns!
when counting safety measures and sunset dooms.

Well, seems like you'd have to be a mer-person to survive. Of course, where love is concerned, there are worse seas to drown in. And maybe, just maybe, when we swim to the surface to breathe there will be a lifeboat waiting. Well done.

I am a strong swimmer and would be happy to.meet anyone at the bottom if I thought I could help guide them to the top. No good swimming around on the surface when all the action is below. A poem which evokes the emotions Sami. Meaningful poetry.

Happy Sunday.................
Poets hope that readers will dive deeply into their works...that is where the messages lie hidden...
under the surface....but some just want to skim and be on their way.

I like the bottom, the place way below those surface tears.

the Moments that matter...worth swimming to.
