Sami Khalil A modern Shakespearean sonnet… Meadows of green…how they graze the prairie Walking, trotting, cantering, galloping hooves I’m no jockey, cowboy, Broncos’ wary But my charm with equines boldly endures. Opting to ride, mounting a feral one Giddying him, it charged its hoofbeats past Chasing a storm… this trusty steed had fun Alluding to remorse, my heart knocked fast. Life is an untamed ride, no guileless beasts An endless expanse of wilderness reign Imbued with fanciful, illusive feasts Aptly we overcome its ladened bane. It was a sunset romp, casting my cares Horsing around, bucked with frisky affairs.
