The World

Quiet morning

Sitting in the room,

You're still sleeping.

Outside the window

Grey mottled clouds

Fill the sky.

Church bell chimes

In the distance.

Suddenly a stream of sunshine

Breaks through the cloud cover

And brightens the world

For a few seconds,

Then gradually fades.

I wonder if you stirred;

You are my world.
