3am

A Poem by Sean Betts
"

This poem I write is inspired by the times when I would stay up all day and night and these are some of the words that just came out at 3am many years ago.

"
The clock ticks seconds away
the righteous scribbles begin to sway
from the days that I never want
to remember to the times that I
wish I could remember breathing
to endure these hellish hours
pushing up flowers till they reach
the tower and I look down into
the primordial mist that is my
past I sift through this s**t
trying to centralize the inner strength
that brought me from the then to
the now and after a little comparison
I find out yours truly is more desenstized than
a corpse prepped in the morgue
ready to be strapped down on this
cold metal sheet located on fleet street
where the demons parade coming at
them with a crusade that in reality
is just a charade to chase them
away from this horrifying imbalance
of chemicals that is me

I like this poem, the rhythm and theme.
Well chosen metaphors and language. Well constructed.
Love it.
