Freedom: A Dream Worth Fighting For

Freedom: A Dream Worth Fighting For

A Poem by LightforChrist
"

A poem honoring the Fourth of July or America's birthday

"

On our country’s birthday

We must remember a day

When there was no freedom

And America was no Eden

During that glorious fight

When men used their might

To fight for the independence

That at that time was dense

Many men gave their lives

For a dream they were denied

The cost for freedom is heavy

And can often be very risky

These costs do not hinder

Even the determined dreamer

From fighting to one day be free

From a ruler who lives overseas

Bloodshed is a price of war

That makes a true hero a star

It shows the bravery we still hold

In this country of the daring and bold

While you are celebrating today

Thank God for this beautiful day

In which we are all born free

And live in a land of liberty

Thank you so much! :)
There is such a void between a patriot and a nationalist. Well done. You have rung all the correct bells, and blown all the appropriate whistles. I will always gladly yield to such devoted patriotism.
