Weight of a Snowflakes' Shadow

Weight of a Snowflakes' Shadow

A Poem by Snowbound Traveler
"

A walk through a sleeping neighborhood during the first snow of December brought me the opportunity to contemplate eternity.

"

The delicate fall of frozen lace across a cold December night

The world retreated behind closed curtains to receive their dose of dreams

Whispering through the swirling and silent dark like a ghost to a haunting

The orange cone of a lone streetlight beckons me

A witness to eternity carried

In the weight of a snowflakes' shadow

Passing across the velvet snow of night

"The orange cone of a lone streetlight beckons me" is a wonderful line! I enjoyed this poem very much. It captures a fleeting moment in time and reflets on the philosophical implications of that moment. Very well done. If I were to consider editing anyting at all, I would maybe consider a different word choice in place of "virgin" snow." Virgin snow" lends itself toward a common phrase, and the rest of the poem is not common at all. Don't let the reader down in your last line would be my suggestion. Keep writing!
