Amma

Amma

A Poem by Pitta S Dev
"

a tribute to my mother

"

she took care of our body and spirit

and made us grow perfect in every merit

Home is the first school and she is the first teacher

morals of God and man, We learn from this preacher

she led us with Love in guise of discipline

that all human virtues might reign

she corrected us that we may not go astray

of the future all the time she prayed

love is a feeling we learned from her

Never failed until in death we part her

mistakes we committed, she forgave and forgot

to us only love and affection she begot

she became weak when we were ill

even we turned old and frail; she felt in us "child' still

the hand that rocked our cradle

never tired to help us in every hurdle

O "mother, thy LOVE we ever never repay

but, refuge we take, in your memories, on this earth as long as we stay.
