A Journey Into My Mind

A Journey Into My Mind

A Poem by Ariel
"

Just me being a little insane.

"
It's midnight, and the pale moon is
Hanging lazily up above the
Cracked pavement above this little town.
I look up and smile fitfully at
The smoggy sky full of dizzy stars.

I'm tripping down the avenue towards
Mark's minimart, even though my mind knows
It must by closed by now.  Everything is,
It must be three AM on the sundials all around.
I close my eyes and follow the beat of my heart.

I think my feet are black because I
Left my shoes at home.  The ground beneath
Me is lukewarm from the summer's heat.
I look through a glossy window and see my
Powder white face.  I laugh and walk on.

Where am I going?  Where have I gone?
My memory is dwindling and I'm beginning
To thik I left my brain and home with my shoes.
I search for the bus stop and weave...

My feet pitter-patter and then I'm gone.
