Providence by Firelight

Providence by Firelight

A Poem by Michael G. Smith
"

Watching my wife though the prism of flames

"

Do these eyes deceive

Or do I gaze

Upon a sheer naked soul

Through these prism flames

Which rise between us

Inward somewhere

They do go

Unto a place

I believe I must know

Outside…

The fire’s ring

Circles of never ending warmth

Where cold whispers writhe as winds do blow

Past ghost mothers

Telling tales of us

Ancient of other planes

And upon further orbs

A prince and princess

From distant tribes

The dance of fire

Once again draws forth

From centers

Of a universe

Out of darkness

We love birthed

So the brother...

Fire, serenades

Unifies the sun

And the moon

Also too the celestial…

Sister earth, celebrates

Two beings

Into one truth

Sigh. I deeply admire a husband who writes sweet and sincere poems for his wife. This poem is really.....SIGH....

Such a romantic, warm poem. It will honestly steal your heart away until you have read the last word and even then you are left there sitting in awe.

I really like this one Michael, it's down to earth yet has a fiery tang to it, one line....

'Where cold whispers writhe as blow'

kind of tripped me up, made me think of cocaine, so it kind of brought a whole other scenario to mind, which I know was not your intention. Maybe 'as they blow'...
