PaperCut~

Her face

there is a story in her face

Eden plumps her berry lips

connects to the dimpled diamond at the tip of her chin

a fractal silver ring in a flared nostril

inhaling blossoms slipping through a portal

drawn in an origami cube

hovering somewhere between completion

and immortal rhymes

Her skin is white with capillary trails

drawn in blue smoke

a blur of shifting screens playing colors

in frames of white gauze

her lids

lined with sandalwood

hickory in her pores

uneven blush lights

like rope trails at the jaw line

A slide of peel skin

like a  ribbon of blood rind

curls back from the bone frame of a cheek

carefully

to the sound of music

opaque in its pitch

sharp in a note

like a razor

against the shutters of a camera

the smile lost somewhere between a depression

a click

Her face

there is a story in her face

cross stitched

with paper cuts

invisible to the spectrums

trimmed back in layers

to complement the folds

of the origami

in pink

between the fingers of the stone yakuza;

blue is the color of the mood

blood is the fable

and the cost

Silk and silent etchings of beauty and depth in painful reality and surreal consciousness, with a symphony of words tuned to perfection as only your mind to hand can do. One of your very best, dear Poet~

Message to Heich~ Selene has several books published, and I'm sure she'll direct you towards to her website so you can view the titles for future reading. I've read them all, and I will tell you honestly that she is the very best poet you will ever read. I have my review of her first book on my website, here's the link in case you would like to read it: http://theartisansandbox.xitti.com/groups/11

Nice work...life's reflections are the escape into our soul, what is life if we have not experienced it all...and yet there are those moments that even within reflection leave us scared...the face is that mirror of life...

nice...

The face in the photo is beautiful. I like the description. Each face had a story to be told. My Grandmother 94 year old face was the most beautiful face I ever seen. Her face showed a great life. Your statement made the words come alive and the photo have life. A outstanding poem.

supremely vivid and spectacular work, i really enjoyed this. this is really nice work, and even without the picture, one could picture the woman almost exactly thanks to the description, kudos on that. in my opinion, that second stanza's the best. really great work

First, thank you for your review on my haiku, goddess.

Second...What in the world is this? After reading this, I find that I'm very jealous, and I find that it is a good thing. Perhaps it's my emotional state combined with what I can only define as this poem's sickening beauty, but I was very nearly moved to tears after reading. I will not claim to know what your poem meant; all I will say is that someway, somehow, this struck a chord somewhere deep down and very dark, and shed some light on emotions I constantly try to lock away. I don't feel as if I should be reviewing your work; not even gods deserve to indulge in reading something so utterly pristine as PaperCut.

I very much enjoyed this...stanza... Oddly enough, the flow of it makes me think of what I'd like my hip hop to sound like; striking, and just beyond the understanding of the mortal mind. Very rarely do I read a poem that causes me to nod in rhythm with each line. I'm very proud to have read it. Extraordinary, though, I don't need to tell you that, do I?

Welcome to the Arkside.

ah Selene, how well you describe womans myriad faces which society has taught us we should hide.love the line "the smile lost somewhere btwn depression and a click" Your poetry makes one look beyond the superficial to the realities that so many try not to see. This is well done and succinct.
