Desert Plume~

Desert Plume~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

geldings batter themselves against what they lost

my two step across the sand

only rubs the wound raw

mares look through me

wild eyes rolling

they don’t do well with a see through girl

stallions understand my pressure

eager to pound my heart

with bone hooves

mounting bareback

my saddle their spine

lush mane my reigns

they give me lead

plumes of white breath

flared nostrils

the sky breaks open

lightning between my breasts

rain

my cloak

screaming across the desert floor

a girl

a horse

an open vein in a canyon

someday this memory will reopen

and I can stop pretending to be a flesh and blood woman

nudge the hourglass

sand streaming up my thighs

a stallion

waiting

to give lead

to my pressure

A fierce enigma of being informs this deceptively simple equine adventure, registering rueful geldings, and transparency spooking the mares, a marriage of impressive animal vitalism and lighter than air spirit, subtle in its pressures, certain in its ways, free to ride time-free and wonder-wild.

The bareback riding on the powerful stallion, the violent elements on her naked body - these are stirring images of desire and arousal ... Full of energy and wild abandon, intense and burning

The poetic vein of society seemed to run dry, and then I read your poetry. Poetry is in your blood, in your heart, and in your soul. You write with such a vivid passion and such eloquent artistry, and I am grateful.

Very visually descriptive. You've done it again.

yes, you create a lot of havoc walking through our big barn yard; but you'll tire of it

the nose knows...i and i know what you mean...the desert calls...because once you've been there, the sand stays in you...guiding you back to where you once grew
