HoneyBee~

HoneyBee~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

A silver lake

golden minnows

girl made of honey

in a lace sugar dress

boy made of smoke

dark licorice stained lips

weeping willows heavy with sunshine

protesting their nature

hanging branches curved into smiles

"A pocket full of sunshine." laughs the girl

opens her palm on a monarch butterfly

boy widens the caves of his eyes

hungry

to be in girl's palm

to be inside girl's pores

girl knows

smiles

parts cherry blossom lips

invitation on allure

a lure

he leans into the sweet perfume of her story

she strokes corners of his dreams

pollen rich on her tongue

giving him good pollination

the butterfly flexes a wing

her proboscis deep in the girl's honey pores

boy slips deep into girl's blossom kiss

her buttercup tongue

spreads himself like sweet berry jam

across her peach soul;

the Monarch gives girl side eye

"Honeybee," says the butterfly, "Ain't you gorged yet, honeybee?"

girl winks one long eye of emerald facets

lifts the butterfly between her brows

where in ink she spreads orange

black

and yellow hues

while the girl cups a pocket full of sunshine

drinks a cup of sky

her wings paper thin

but for now

still strong enough

to hold a world

she strokes her middle hive

swaying to the sound of a river

a thousand honey bees

weaving little chambers

in her belly

It must be honey...? I think you're right... This was pretty sweet, to say the least... I always feel like I'm reading faerie tales...perhaps I am? I think we will collect you, and share you with my future children, because I think I should want them to know the same magic I've had the pleasure of knowing reading your work, Ms. Selene... Another beautifully written and soul capturing write. You can do no wrong.

I freaking love this one Selene!! POWERFUL read. This was such a magical read. It completely captivated me and brought me back into the beauty of your world. Selene your writing is salve for my wounded soul. I love it.

Honey it is, and I reach to dip my fingers in again and again. You are always keeping me skirting the edges of a higher level of thinking. Beatiful piece.

visions of things that drip and ooze elongated drops of sweetness and things that glitter and gleam...a sensuous roll in the sunshine surrounded by symbolism of lust, libidinous repartee and fertility...I read and can't help know that your mind is a place I'd love to be...to see...and reach out and touch the honey that drips and taste it from my fingertips...

...if it tastes lovely and feels lovely and goes down lovely...well...

LOVELY!

What a piece of writing, both faerie tale and wanton bewitchery. With this the reader is swept up and away into a world that's beautifully alien.

'while the girl cups a pocket full of sunshine
drinks a cup of sky
her wings paper thin
but for now
still strong enough
to hold a world '

and the last lines are history in the making!

Wonderful!
