BleedingMuse~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole
"

~poem as cathartic self healing~

"

with each write

a thorn is broken off the stem

one day all the thorns will be gone

there may remain

a tiny

blurred spot

where once they burrowed

but the thorns

themselves

will never hook inward again

to bleed the soul

~inspired~
once upon a time I used to teach creative writing as self therapy to incarcerated juveniles at our local detention center~ on paper their souls bled~ anger left behind in ink~ pain processed through prose is a miraculous aspect to observe~

I shudder to think of the madness that would run unchecked were it not for creative catharsis... you express beautifully the way we bleed our joys and pain, trials and triumphs on the page... and somehow find a kind of peace in the eye of the storm.

Writing is a wonderful catheris for the soul; It lets a person vent and re-live their problems though the written word which will speak back to the tormented soul and make him/her see their lives in another perspective. Writing is a theraputic method of healing! Great write!

It means what it says, a rose will can lose its thorns, but it also means something deeper. People can lose their hard shell of protection until the only thing left is anger, madness, and pure, raw sorrow. This is a wonderfully written piece. Very very well done Selene.

if one survives the inward bleed / lives to grow a ripe old age on family tree / there is a place where grass is green / and dreams turn real / the young grow wise / the wounds do heal...

Wow, I really liked this. The thought of thorns, you were most likely talking about a rose and I say that roses are very inspiring...they are fragile, but beautiful creations. While I read this, I could actually picture each thorn falling off over time and soon all of them were gone...beautiful!

Poetry is the finest form of catharsis. Once you place your thoughts in black and white you can review them more realistically than just allowing them to fester in the dark. I too used too work with juveniles in care and observed some few few successes. Most never had a chance from the word go

indeed it is... That's what gets us through most days. It does help; goddess Selene, you are an amazing personality for helping troubled youths. We definitely need many more people like you... In fact... You may have just given me a direction...
