Kissing God~

Kissing God~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

my dream

poured over with the ocean

boardwalk aquariums

filled with minnows

you

made of shadows

walked up against my back

dripping failure

you said

"Don't turn around until you close your eyes."

I lowered dark eyelash wings

to hide emerald planets

in deep sockets

you turned me by the shoulders

placed my palms against your face

"I trust you to keep them closed." you said

where my fingers traced

mercurial liquids

solidified

dense  flesh

bones took form

but you were yet without a heart

and said

"I'm going to kiss you now.”

across my lips a breeze

a taste of apples

of planets fresh from birth

with nectar you traced

uncertain smile of mine

with forked tongue

parted my lips

pushed through

with ease

fingertips against my brow

barely touching

press of delicious alchemy filling my cheeks

a sharp moment

an exhale

a gasp

"What did you do?"  I opened my eyes

working the inside of my throat around a diamond corona

the scarred man smiled

hollow eye sockets  spilling stars

down his cheeks

"I gave you the world since you think you can do a much better job."

the earth unfurled inside my belly

humanity exploded in all its indigence across my fingertips

as I protested

"But all I wanted was a latte."

he laughed

I pouted

"I'll still take you for coffee." he winked

~along a boardwalk

a not quite woman

 put her arm

 through a scarred god’s  elbow

as a cloud above them opened

to feed the moment with snowflakes;

needless to say

they would not kiss again

for a very long time . . . .~

LOL...blind date with a God... This is truly remarkable...as your usual! The scene you create is fantastic and natural all at the same time Selene. Your play of imagery is with a master's touch and paints such an interesting picture. And the humor you inject in this is winding! ""But all I wanted was a latte."" my favorite line...

We small humans think we know it all and criticize the gods...but in the end, we have no hold on this creation that is present.

I guffawed over that! Indeed, aren't we all "gods" to a certain degree...and to that degree some say that "God made man in his own image!" So the premise interests...

but i don't want to shoulder the responsibility of evaluating your work Selene! I want to float along on the dream-fanstasy ride of your creation and frolic in the intellectual sensuality of this bliss-fest! Let others make wise and clever sounding learned statements! I'm to busy enjoying the ride!!!

I will say however that your "press of delicious alchemy filling my cheeks," "hollow eye sockets spilling stars down his cheeks" and "working the inside of my throat around a diamond corona" are such exquisitely scrumptious thought evoking concepts and with a few other lines are so wonderfully apropos for a meeting with a God...I LOVE your work, and your talent just oozes out of every write! Thank You for sharing your gifts

This time around I noticed a Neil Gaiman quality (American Gods). You have a versatile way of dealing with perennial spectrum of gods and humans, and the paradox of that.

A lot of Gnostic humor in being turned into Sophia when all you wanted was a latte.

But then we are all hologram fragments reflecting the whole -- something that emerges under mysterious alchemical circumstances.

And the poet's fingers conjure this god into being, before he leaves a transformational kiss.

Heart magic w/a timely Christmas aura as well.

that was beautiful
"I lowered dark eyelash wings
to hide emerald planets
in deep sockets
you turned me by the shoulders
placed my palms against your face
"I trust you to keep them closed." ....the imagery and the feeling you get from reading this, just makes me happy :)

WHICH IS GOOD...
THERE WERE PARTS THAT...

Perhaps a kiss by a physically scarred man is better than a kiss from a mentally scarred man ?
But then again, Belle did not kiss the beast until he turned back into prince Adam.
Fine work, as usual..visuals are great...story line begins and ends perfectly
