I approach in prints

Fingerprints in swirls

Press my patterns

Into your shoulder blades

Lotus tattoos illuminate the base of your skull

Where dreams breathe

On the nights when sanctuary displays through touch

Tracing spine trance

While

Lip prints in cupid bow

Complement the curve of your jaw

Dyeing your dimpled smile with blush

Languid and unhurried

While

Heart prints in resilient rhythm

Caress your rib’s cage

Compelling

Soul prints

In ink between your dancing fingers and mine

Playing cat’s cradle with a thousand words

You add your prints

Between us

There is poetry

This was a beautiful, sensual, intimate look at touching and how good it is for the soul. I am sure it could be taken in many different ways, but this is how I saw it. Intimacy does not always have to involve sex. It is a moment of recognition between two people. This was so so lovely. I really enjoyed reading it!

how poetry comes into being... I got hooked on the words "playing cat's cradle with a thousand words" I wonder how those came to be. :)

You always write paintings that should be adapted to movies. This was beautiful.

Some may not understand your vivid painting of words, but that is only because they have lost the ability to dream in fantastical images and feel the poem as it enters the mind and the heart. The strokes of a pen are so much more in what they are able to accomplish throughout the soul of a being. They shape, shift, and move an individual. Poetry surely lives between two souls.
