Maricolous~

Maricolous~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

Something beautiful

uncommon

washed up on the shore

it’s hair was tangled  with  dreams lost

its skin flaked with white  seashells

ribs, curled scrolls beneath a quiet heart

eyelids half closed on little fish darting through a green iris

a white iris cradled in a ruby wash of burst capillaries

In a half curl of hip impressions

nude

broken on the rocks of a jagged world

it was still somehow lovely

despite

or because of

lavender and onyx spots

a water leopard in hematomas crawling the curve of broken spine

ivory arms bound with seaweed

a white garbage bag rippling a mermaid tail

its lower extremities a fairy tale

brought to its broken knees;

it reposed

discarded

washed by  ocean of foam

I see her everywhere... She is becoming more common of a sight, unfortunately in this so-called evolved world we are forced to reside in. The unique pure of heart souls, (animals & humans), are half eaten and spit back up by those who are selfish dark hearts whom think with their pocketbooks. She IS still beautiful no matter what has happened, she is irony tenfold. Society needs to look into this mirror of truth, we all have a voice and a choice to help or to ignore...
The imagery is crystal to the point of wanting to scoop her up and nurse her back into her self. A bittersweet write that will haunt me.

Yes, yes! The ancient goddesses have all died from pollution and impact with power boats. This reminds me of the manatees that surround me here in Florida.

Can you imagine finding such a wonderful creature and if mankind did I am sure we would destroy her just as the rocks to jagged world did. I feel it was us who destroyed her anyway with our technology and our chemicals politing her world it is a wonder she made it to shore at all. I noticed the white garbage bag in this poem and that's why I feel mankind destroyed her. Great write as always by you, Poetess!

A soft scene of tragedy, deceptive in its genteel delivery yet horrifying in its undertones. Too often the mundane is treasured instead of what truly counts, and so human emotions and lives are despoiled and discarded when they are the greatest treasures of all. How many souls will be washed up before it is enough, one wonders...

Selene, hello!
I love your images ... love the sea.. for me this poem is beautiful sadness.. it makes me think of someone., a woman who was harmed, murdered - thrown away like trash ... perhaps my impression is off (like me) ha!
I found it mesmerizing..

This poetic is echoing across the divide... and I return again to close my eyes and awash in the silence of the ache, while dreaming of a breath inhaled, and the fairytale alive again... you make every moment you capture more than a moment... Selene, you make every moment a life time...
