Myth's B*tch~

Myth's B*tch~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

The man would dip

into the cream

but this cream has dark flavor

he’d string me up on beauty

but my beauty is a razor

another dreamt this and that

into my swollen marrow

but my bones are made of gods’

righteous, stolen arrows

“Hold up, pause.” She says

“Now you’re really tripping,

what gave those deities the right

to take a human girl in snippings.”

I laugh

on Myth’s behalf

as I stroke my hips into the sin of another golden calf

sweeping arms up in a spiral

making clouds misbehave

dropping  to the ground

on yet another killing day

“Right?” I laugh

“Look at him!”

point I then at the pride, the sin

as a man crawls up

to shake his staff

at my wicked effigy

unmanned

this b***h

this w***e

this Babylonian toy

that will not be tamed

though made

hammered out by wicked shouts

as the men went all out

to prove they were men

but at the final draw

they were all trapped inside my pen

every wicked blot

every wound and spot

of pain meant to break this girl

flipped itself onto its side

merged

and reemerged

to their terrible chagrin

because in my eyes I wore their weakness

and their  ugly sins

while my skin they craved

and my mind they ached to own

you were made for this, they’d pout

the hell I was, I’d grin

and rage became another stroke of ink

“Hold up.” She says

“Now you’re creepin me

A little.”

I shrug, so noncommital

“Don’t you get it, chica?

Every one of them is brittle.”

and you are, you are, my mankind

whom I love

and whom I hate

whom I want to swallow down

with the sharpest drops of rain

cut you through me

and me through you

this b***h sired by a Myth

using calligraphy and pitch

to flip you from the pit

but doomed and damned

encoded deep

the self destructive gene in you

never learned

now did you

that genes are schemes

easy to trade

simpler to step over

and toss your own fate on the eye of the dice

once

twice

thrice

snake eyes

inverted

lost cause

we,

dying to our own applause

Wow!! This reads like a terrifying monologue of some ancient, heartless goddess, fated to be worshipped by a fault-ridden, weak humanity. I love the use of dark humour in the dialogue. It adds another dimension to the narrative voice.
Way to go on a Monday morning, Selene. Start the week with guns blazing.

I love the tone in this poem alot. It sounds so...bitter like Fyreheart said but also so powerful like its an undertone but that you know exactly whats next. All your lines were awesome, i really cant give constructive criticism of any kind coz theres just nowhere to pull anything from. Expertly written.

"whom I want to swallow down
with the sharpest drops of rain
cut you through me"

These verses were so quenching!!! It seems every man wants to place ownership on a women, but most gives her their most cherished anatomy, their balls to put in her purse, leaving her in charge.

Great Write Selene!

I have to agree with Lily here. Few can make the dark nature of man as playful and beautiful as you and not lose any of the impact in the process!

A real man has nothing to prove. It's already there. Which means those which aspire just aren't there yet. I feel the greatest measure of a man is in the amount of restraint he applies to his own temptations; that, and in the humility he practices while serving others. It's not a new concept however. Even Jesus washed his children's feet. There is nothing to be made from an enemy but a friend and no darkness so deep that the light of love cannot brighten every room. But there are many dark rooms where demons hide...but they will never survive the light. They need their darkness to live and grow. I'm a torch carrier myself. And while the darkness may be bold...it cannot dim the light. Peace and love, F.
