Shake N Bake~

Shake N Bake~

A Poem by NoneOfYourBusiness akaKITTY KUTABAREakaCandyPole

My hips knew the beats

before my body caught up

they painted my effigy

played my ethnology

little girl loops on the strings of technology

Calvin’s incline stitched under my spine

hollow and undulate

align my decline

syrup with rabbits

through my white milk

blow through my silk

see, I have this habit

to inhabit

the male thing’s

bibbity

     babitty

       and boo!

I’m blue, it’s true

if I don’t find my way

in his bones, and through

the glitter

where the w***e knows how to teach a doll

to be a blowthrough stripper

a cabal on a rack with a helluva rack

ratatatta! Ooohed

they ahhhd

they bought the lips

the eyes

the gun, the lies

Jimmi in a pool of blood

Seleny on standby

rabbit headlights in the eyes

the show must go on

yakuza

and crimson

Seleny skips in

naked and bloody

mmmm, memories are yummy

not

shot through with hot

love

my spine a bow

his above

shoved

aside

Saturday, Saturday night live

heads talking

Lenny Bruce

grave stalking

stuttering

chalkin

bodies in an outline

Chaucer’s stains in the gutter

sideswiped

for Charlie, not a word but a song from a model bird

under my back pact

backtrack

they told me to bring home the bacon

and fry it up in a pan

cuz I’m a woman

and that means I can

can can

shop right

buy rite

dazzle me in blind light

shake my maker

reserve my acre

in ‘Merica the lovely hell

that swallowed down my virgin swells

but wasn’t man enough to take

my shake

my bake

my magik oven

cuz . . . .

if you give a cat a cup cake

she’ll surely see the uptake

“S’up Drake?”

and if you give a moose a muffin

he’ll steal Little Trouble Muffet’s

troubles

doubled

in one scoop

and two

where’s the man they promised my true blue

when I was Bionic

woman and Wonder

wondering about ironic

ionic

teacher as my preacher

his hand under my  . . . .(shut my  mouth about it!)

here, baby baby drink this tonic

magik 12

bullets

double dutch

and fluids

they burned the girl on the roof

Coco broke a tooth, no, no, not a blue tooth

oh sooth my aching brain

with your lullabye

refrains

and I’ll dig you from the ground

with my broken hands

drenched in my dusty wedding gown

Happy Birthday to me

now

cakes and death

the age

becomes

an echo

my surreal bend, art deco

12 candles burning

Seleny on a stage

shake and bake

and burnin’

Holy f****n' hell! I want to see you read this. I want to see ever single word ripen inside your mouth and burst between your teeth as you spit out the center seeds. You're amazing. Combining rhythm, pieces of old commercials, old loves (you're never going to let Jimmi go, are you?") 21st century rappers, nursery rhymes, and f**k if you didn't even twist up If you Give A Cat A Cupcake (when your grandson gets old enough to read your poems I want o see his face when he reads thi, lol) and still make it fresh and own it! You're the poetic ripper of this century.

At 12 we were women, our eyes had seen things no child should. Our bodies treated like a trashed rag doll, thrown to the side never to reveal only to conceal. You cling to an older man and learn love only to have that taken so savagely... That age is the time when girls still do read books like you describe, play with their Easy Bake and are between the child & grown up feelings.
My muse has been tugging on me about this exact subject. M turned 12 on Sunday & she had a slumber party & went to Chuck E. Cheese then spent the rest of the night giggling w/ her friends. I, was never allowed that childhood. I mourn for the little girl I never got to be and boil with rage remembering the backdrop that turned me into a woman far too soon.
Your quick cuts here work a sharp edge of a life that should have been so very different.

Nice rythm and I loved little pieces of commericals and ads throughout the piece. It fit nicely and didn't take anything way. This is truly an intriguing masterpiece. Wonderfully penned.

Great write!

You're a volcanic talent. Your lava erupts in the most extraordinary patterns. You're the queen of spectacular rhythmic subtleties.

This is how you put beat and rhythm into a poem! The quick pace bringing down through control, fear, strength, pride and matter of fact assassins seducing the weak parading as leaders.

Wow. My mind is blinded. Seared. Just as I feared. Not that I minded.
Wow. Just wow. There is (as in all of your works) obviously a lot of personal stuff here that I don't know about but the power rips through.
Did I say wow?

We want to see you read this too! You sure do know how to wake us up and keep us wide eyed for days. That's it! You're poetic cocaine! We love you, you make the world a more interesting place, and you make words into something completely new!
You brought back the 70's in your own Selene way with these lines.
