Love Lies Gently Sleeping

Love Lies Gently Sleeping

A Poem by Serenitybound

Love Lies Gently Sleeping

soft warm embraces

silent smiles on faces

covers for warmth shared

my love lies gently sleeping

a soft glow on the outer edges of his skin

depict the essence of an angel hidden within

staring quietly upon the outskirts of his dream

while quiet whimpers escape worlds unseen

I lay still in his embrace wondering

where is he now and what does he see

while my love lies gently sleeping

does he dream of us

does he dream of yesterdays past

or maybe tomorrows that last

how so does his tale run

will the end be stolen by the sun

as it peeks thru folds to light the way

when he wakes to start his day

will love linger on in a tale unwritten

yes I am smitten by his warm embrace

as I stare quietly upon his face

my love bursting into joyful tears

the wonder of it all has found me weeping

while my love lies gently sleeping.

I must say, honestly, this one of the sweetest poems I have ever read. Perhaps it is because the entire time I am reading, I can reminisce of my own love. I loved the rhythm, and just the choice of words, so gentle. You've added details that create the most romantic picture, and I see the innocence of a man when he is sleeping and dreaming, all the while she is watching him with thoughts of her own. This poem was absolutely beautiful, it is now one of my fav's, you did an awesome job once again sb!

Sometimes we pay for love by moments given to deep uncertainy.

You've described these feelings very well with your poem.

Thanks for the send...!

you have described love well
To be laying with your other half, seeing the peace within their face and to feel it in their embrace
There's nothing greater to be felt, I have this with my love and it's something I'll never give up

Very well written, thank you for sharing
love & light
