Twelve Hours of Death

Twelve Hours of Death

A Poem by Once Loved Now Lost

The clock strikes one, that is when I find you
That is when I hold you
That is when I fell in love with you

The clock strikes two
That is when I smile at you
That is when I devote myself to you
That is when I decide I can't lose you

The clock strikes three
That is when you say you love me

The clock strikes four
That is when you make my heart soar
That is when I say, "I love you more."

The clock strikes five
That is when you start to lie
That is when, you think, our love will die

The clock strikes six
That is when our conversations go into a mix
That is when you break my heart, that will never fix

The clock strikes seven
That is when I contemplate going to Heaven

The clock strikes Eight
That is when you try to stop me... but it's too late

The clock strikes nine
That is when you go on with your life, without mine

The clock strikes ten
That is when we start talking again

The clock strikes eleven
That is when you fall for him, again

The clock strikes twelve
That is when I die
That is when I say my farewell
That is when I tell you, "I love you more than I could ever tell."
That is when I part, for either Heaven or Hell.

The clock strikes twelve-oh-one
That is when I'm gone
