Again

Again

A Poem by Ken Baldwin

They say every morning is a new beginning,
For me, every day starts the same,
My heart breaking all over again.

Overwhelming sadness, tears in my eyes,
An emptiness that can't be filled,
Feeling like I'm going to implode.

I have everything I do not want,
And have nothing that I need,
A loneliness massacres my soul.

I cannot work, it hurts too much,
Sleep is elusive, food disgusting,
I suffer in silence, writing words to immolate.

Imagined it more times than I can count,
But I cannot kill myself, despite the pain,
To do that to the people I love...
