Paradise Hawaiian Style

Po' akolu,

'Aukake 17, 2012

on hawaiis pristine sands

while basking in the sun

my eyes met his

.........and instantly

sweet romance had begun

I could not speak his language

nor could he speak mine

yet somehow understood each word

connection so divine

we dance to ukulele slow

his hold was warm and strong

somehow in his arms that night

was right where I belonged

the palm trees swayed so gently

waves slowly crashed to shore

the sky turned pink with purple hues

this place that I adore

he took a flower from his lai

and placed in my hair

then kissed me oh so sweetly

this tender kiss we shared

all to soon the time slipped by

my vacation had to end

he whispered softly

"Loa, A hui hou kakou "

(Love, until we meet again...)

THis is wonderfull. Maybe a bit of wishfull thinking or possibly something real? In any case its a wonderfull way to say good bye to a stranger for a night of blissful passion.

I have spent a lot of time in Hawaii...I have family on Oahu and Molokai. I've been to pretty much every island, but I think Maui suits me the best. This really transported me back to the sand and the sun, and the lifestyle in general...because that is what it is all about when it comes to anything Hawaiian. I am reminded of the streets of Lahaina...just walking at night, watching the people, looking out at the ocean and the cusp of Lanai and Molokai in the distance. Beautifully written, Shallimar!

Ah island love, it doesn't get any better than that. Sandy beaches, blue skies, that tender kiss, a lover's sighs.

Extremely beautiful and romantic.
