Tales from Within a Cop Car

Tales from Within a Cop Car

A Poem by Sharkapillar

I'm writing this from the back of a cramped cop car

I got arrested again for disturbing the peace

I hope things are quieter wherever you are

Just so you can make sure the serenities cease

Chorus: The world spins past through the side window

A blur of gray rain and slick black road

But a brighter fire burns in the corner of my mind

Get up, scream out, see what you can find

Still tapping my toes against the floor of this car

There's a song in my heart that only I can hear

There's a triumphant voice in my head--That's a bit bizarre

A serene smile on my lips to close the entrance of fear

(Chorus)

I sing songs from the back of this police car

Dreaming up more words for this song for you

I hope you're still smiling, still singing where you are

Wait for me--I'll be disturbing the peace again soon.

(Chorus)

~

It's a great poem and I reckon it would be a wonderful song, with a haunting, sad rock beat. I loved the first verse especially.
