Trust

Years to earn, seconds to break.

Pain is pain, truth is truth.

A lie is a lie, kind or obtuse.

Just because it's small, it doesn't hurt any less.

Give me nothing at all, if you can't give me your best.

You ask of me the same and I tell you that I will.

But you tell me one little lie and wonder why I can't trust you still.

Because to me, big or small, it's not your honest word.

And even if you think the truth is bad, a lie is still much worse.

Why can't it be easy like you say your love for me is?

Because if you'll lie about one thing, you'll lie about my kiss.

And if you'll lie about my kiss, you'll lie about our love.

This will be a dominoe effect and that will surely be enough.

Enough for me to say goodbye to our once unbreakable trust,

Because if you must tell a lie,you can tell it to my dust.

a lie begets a lie begets a lie, and when you lie about love or fidelity it is the worst kind of betrayal. this write is marvelous and highly charged with pain and regret, but fiercely and adamantly. well done!
