You're back

A Story by ShayRad21
"

Ryuu is the spirit of Mushu Maxxie is the spirit of Toto It's from my creative writing sight. Ryuu suffers from depression and Max is the only on who can help him. Just a drabble really

"
When Maxxie had prodded him awake, he was mad at first. He hadn't slept very well in almost a week. Why was someone making him wake up from the fittest nap he'd had in quite some time. Who was waking him up? Then, he saw it who it was. Maxxie. His body had been numb, not feeling anything. Uncomfortable, icy coldness that he couldn't chase away no matter how many blankets he piled on top of himself. He'd technically been dead. A stiff corpse asleep in the spare bedroom. He didn't eat, he slept a restless hurtfull sleep, and he was so cold. He needed Maxxie. He couldn't pretend like he didn't need his best friend. He'd be a b*****d if he even attempted it. Max wasn't there though. He'd had too visit family and Ryuu had no idea when he was supposed to be back. Oh, he could have asked Aunt Em, but he didn't know how he would handle it if she said he'd be gone for a long amount of time, so he didn't. He wasn't expecting Max back anytime soon and he wasn't expecting a rescue from this living hell either. So when he heard an excited voice exclaim "Ryru! I'm home!" and felt the pile of blankets being jerked off him, he didn't believe it. He tried to tune it out, thinking that it was just his horrid excuse for an imagination playing tricks on him. It was only when his hallucination got tired of being ignored and flipped him over onto his back that he thought that this just might be real... Nothing that could come out of his imagination would be that forceful and in his face. He cracked an eye open and saw a blond haired boy standing before him

"Max?" His voice cracked, stale from lack of use over the past week. He stared at him, as though he couldn't believe he was there. Seeing him standing there, well, It was like letting a single drop of food color fall into a clear glass of ice. You could see it shimmying through the cracks, turning the sides of the cubes closest to it a light red while it branched out to turn the rest of the contents pale pink. A warmth was filling Ryuu, slipping down into the crack and openings and touching every part of his. Although it didn't fix the problem, it suddenly made him feel like the world would be okay. It overtook his mind, chasing out the ice cold thoughts of suicide and settled there, allowing happier thoughts to set up camp. He stood up slowly, the effort of pulling himself off the bed one of the hardest things he had done in quite some time. He could see the worried look in Max's face as he staggered towards him. He didn't particularly care though. Maxxie was back. Things would be okay again.

Without warning, he threw his arms around Max's neck, pulling into a tigh hug that startled them both. "Max."  He said it, repeatedly, his arms still draped around his neck.

"You okay buddy?"

Ryuu thought about if for a moment, and then shook his head. He wasn't. He didn't know if he would be. but at least he had his friend, his crazy brother back. and even if he still felt like s**t three months from now, at least SOMETHING would be ok.
