I miss you

I miss you

A Poem by sheila.j

I am still so in love with you
And you are dead
And like a strong cup of coffee
Each morning I sip on the pain of losing you
And each night I drink your memory like long lost hope
Waiting for the dreams in which we meet to bridge into reality
But you always slip away with those sweet words upon your lips
"I am still so in love with you"
And as I wake I must remind myself
You are dead

Death is the finale, and the finality of it is like a stark, cold blade. It cuts deep. It hurts like hell. Memories don't bring you comfort until you have wallowed through the grief and pain. It's a long shadow that darkens the soul until the light filters in, once again, through the cracks. This is beautiful in a tragic and poignant way.

Love doesn't die just because the one we loved, died. But where does it go? Is it trapped within another realm we know nothing about, or does it simply stay with us, until it's our time to go? I've always believed that if you love something, it never truly dies. It is always a part of you, therefore it continues to live inside of you. I hope the days and years to come will soon be a comfort. Grief is a houseguest that never leaves. Be patient with yourself and keep writing. I promise to return.
