How Did I Get Here?

Thought that I had lots time
To unravel dreams of mine.
Look around me now and see
There’s so little time for me.

Took too long to pay attention
To the dreams worth the mention.
Little things I thought were silly
Now I see they mean the most.

What makes us think we can delay
Living life for just one day,
One day when it’ll all be perfect
One day that never comes.

Used to be carefree and happy
No, that was never me.
Always stuck in too unhappy
Cause I didn’t get my way.

Never had the circumstance,
No picture perfect world.
Waited for the perfect timing
And almost missed the dance.

Please tell me how did I get here
Lost without my dreams.
No one can tell me, I can’t hear ‘em
All I hear is screams.

It’s not too late,
I hear them cry
You haven’t missed your chance.
It’s not too late
I hear them say
It’s not too late to dance.

This is a great poem. We often live too much for tomorrow and forget to live for today. We are so focused on making dreams come true that we almost miss the chance when it is presented to us. Great write it speaks volumes I'm adding it to my read list

I like the rhythm of this poem. And i think it ended at the right place. The perfect day may never come, but amidst all the monotony and sometimes drudgery, you will find perfect moments. Enjoy them and i guess, you are dancing.
