I've Driven

I've Driven

A Poem by Shelley Warner
"

A short poem about driving conditions

"

I've driven in Colorado downpours,so heavy

that I had to pull over until it subsided.

I've gripped the steering wheel,

driving through the Rocky Mountains

with a sheer drop off.

I've spun around on a snowy road in Maine,

landing in a snow bank where someone stopped

and pushed me back onto the road.

I’ve driven in all these conditions.

But I'll never get used to driving with the morning Boise, Idaho

sun in my eyes.

Rew
The last sentence makes the entire piece.
It's the early evening winter sunsets I hate driving in.
Wet road glare, straight into my eyes. O horrors!
Rew.

The imagery and tenuous feeling of this has us riding in the car with you, barely peeking out the window to look over the edge.
