Never Coming Home

Never Coming Home

A Poem by Muffin<3
"

It's slightly dark.

"
In a crevice imbedded in to the Earth
The place I used to know
Where the darkness stole my soul
To be forcefully deleted from my mind
Hoping that one would come
I stood looking and searching
But to my plea, no one is here to save me
Burnt edges of my mind
From lost hope and denial
It struck me harder then any blow
To know that I'll never come home.

My, my, what a delightfully twisted view of life's terrible nightmares of abandonment. Being alone in the world is probably close to the worst of life's surprises, short of being slowly and painfully tortured by some sick and lustful Sadist b*****d who only wants to watch and feel you suffer. This to me would be the ultimate suffering. At least being alone, with only our own self awareness, is the best thing that could happen to us, considering other less appealing options. So far, each of the poems I've read of yours, definitely has this sense of "awareness" of it's plight; And so it is in this "awareness", that light is able to seep through the cracks of it's despair, making these seemingly painful and hopeless situations, not so painful or hopeless as one would would first suspect. I like your imagination and this strong sense of awareness that seeps through your poems of darkness..

This reminded me of that book, "Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebould (I think xD) it sounds like a ghost or angel or someone talking about their death. It's moving, and nicely written. Good work :3

This is a sorrowful story of reality shattered. The loneliness is abrasive.
Its very moving work that caused me to emotionally invest early into it.

Love the emotion, for me, my first impression was that of someone who was killed. Someone who was desperately waiting for someone to save them so they can return home, but help never came. Of course I could be completely off base here but thought I would share what I got out of your wonderful poem :) I love your choices of words, they add to the strength of this peice and make it seem more of a story to me than a poem. Great job

Poem is very good. When we close the door to love. Very difficult to bring back. I like how you brought me into the story with your strong statements and held me to the last word. A excellent poem.
