While we must walk on embers red and gold

While we must walk on embers red and gold

A Poem by Augustus

While we must walk on embers red and gold
Which lie between the Present and Desire
We tempt our weary heart that has grown cold
With latent sparks of our creative fire

We point ahead and gaze at that full moon
Which days ago a crippled crescent was
A masochist's delight, a lover's swoon
We brand our strife and brave its toothed jaws

For beauty we have wooed: We see her now
Reflected in a shattered mirror's shard
We chase her shadow; dying to keep our vow
She lies in wait beyond and we are scarred

Our Life is Craving and our zest the Trail
Our Wealth is our Desire: The Chase our Grail

You weave in such emotional grace into this tapestry, spanning the vast trail of lore and life profoundly. This has such stirring detail that speaks of love, its aching remains, and what might once more place that spark in us!

That's an amazing poem! I love it, your words for this poem are just perfect, like they were meant for it.
