Autumn's Kiss

Autumn's Kiss

A Poem by Augustus

The sun's warmth slowly melts
In Autumn's chill
In pale gold hazy belts
Over the hill

The green leaves swiftly fly
To mother Earth
In golden hearts to spy
Dreams of rebirth

The songbirds dance a jig
On branches bare
Sweet memories of a fig,
Perhaps a pear!

Night wears a perfumed cloak
of blossoms white
And glistening dewdrops soak
The cold moonlight

I walk with her, her hand
Is held in mine
On Heaven's shore I stand
I feel divine

I'm wrapped in naked bliss
I've naught to say
Surreal Autumn's Kiss
I'm blown away!

Excellent rhyme scheme and lovely imagery that so well describes my favorite season of autumn! There are always are so many options for symbolism and metaphorical illusions in this season. My favorite stanza was :The songbirds dance a jig
On branches bare
Sweet memories of a fig,
Perhaps a pear!
because it is interesting and so creative! I truly felt the autumn's kiss.
Superb work!!

You carry us all over the colors and music of the autumn, filling it with that anticipatory sense of love awakening. Beautiful and lifting!
