Respect

A respect I've earned today,

A dignity my colleagues bring to me.

An honour I receive today,

An inspiration everyone sees,

and when I look in those eyes,

I see the motivation,

I see the zeal.

I'm the one whom they have selected,

I'll be the one true and free,

I'm their protector,

I'm their representative,

Because now whatever happens,

I'll be there to guard and

I'll be there to help.

I'll be the faith,

I'll be the trust 

It'll be just,

them and me.

This poem is a great message for what to expect and what to return in a work atmosphere. Being truthful to oneself can definitely bring the respect, faith and trust among people who work together to achieve a common goal. And I liked the usage of the words which enrich a work atmosphere, and they made poem sound more classy. Good job!

Cool! This poem seems to have a story or personal experience behind it, and while it's exact meaning is somewhat obscure, the themes of honor and responsibility are evident throughout. I like how the focus transitions from appreciation for this award of respect to awareness of what it means to others and of a personal duty to help these people. I also really like the way the poem itself becomes narrower towards the bottom - it looks cool. :) Nice work!
