And Death Comes As the End

And Death Comes As the End

A Poem by Siddhartha

And death comes as the end

Like the aching waves of the roaring seas

Like the sly touch of the soaring winds

Like sand clasped in your hands

And death comes as the end

And death comes as the end

Like a road that you walk alone

To meet a friend at the bend

Like a poem you can’t comprehend

And death comes as the end

And death comes as the end

Like a lifetime lost in repentance

In the hope of making amends

Like the respite of forgiveness

And death comes as the end

And death comes as the end

For the victor and the vanquished

For he who had lost it all

For he who had gained

And death comes as the end
