Empty words

It has been a while

Since I wrote a note for you,

Since I wrote a sentence for you, a poem for you,

Since I wrote a story for you, story about you

And it has been a while since we shared our moment

 

These days when I arrange words in a sentence

It makes no sense, no implication, and no message

While I write a paragraph for you, paragraph of you

While I write a story about us, my feeling for you

 

I have scattered words on the floor

In a blank paper, in the sky and almost everywhere

Where it can be arranged, where it makes sense

Where it will make a sentence, a paragraph

And most importantly, where it will make our story

A story of our intimacy, our friendship and of our love

 

Now, the words have served their purpose,

I arranged them perfectly, in best possible way

It made perfect sense to me

But words have completely lost their meaning

 

Since you lost your connections with me

No word has its original meaning

No word has its integrity, sincerity

And no word has meant its meaning

 

They have completely lost the root of their origin

In your twinkling eyes, in your innermost mind,

Deep down in your heart and in your pure soul

My words have lost their sentiments and tenderness.
