Rioting London

Rioting London

A Poem by Skib
"

I wrote this during the English riot in 2011 when I saw men dragging people from their own cars and trying to drive off with them. It was chaotic in London and the UK and this is what I had to say

"
Amber tides of roaring flame
frantic sounds of rushing feet,
will society ever be the same
after moving to destruction's beat.

Rhythms of selfishness
tempo upbeat
acts of lawlessness
but I take a back seat.

Polluted skies of
clouds and smoke
conspiracies and lies
adding to the fires they stoke.

London falling
deteriorating
no rioters stalling
but "statement making".
