Lessons learned on the road

Lessons learned on the road

A Poem by Skylar Lighten
"

I listened to this man I met downtown. He told me wise words on life's journey.

"

In the bustling streets, amid the crowd and city's heights

You met a man with coffee in hand, he said, "Hey kid."

Forcing a smile, though your worries ran deep,

He said "You seem troubled, let me lend you some advice"

"Today Don't you go and try to feel complete, for it's a fleeting chase,

You pursue it only because you can't see,

This life is sweet, like a highway's embrace,

All you need lies in your backseat, wild and free.

Like a road trip, this journey we're on,

Full of twists and turns, bends and curves,

Treasure every moment before it's gone,

For life's sweetness lies in what it serves.

Embrace the unknown, let it guide your way,

As you navigate this highway called life,

In every sunrise, find a new day,and a new reason to smile

And in every setback, find strength to thrive.

So, dear traveler, don't fret or fear,

For this life is sweet, with lessons to learn,

With each step forward, you draw near,

To the truth that in every twist, there's a turn."
