the fall

the fall

A Poem by slayerjay

will I ever agree with any end

when I accept death,

not as fate, but a friend

so grateful for the distractions

a never ending sea of attention

lost in thought

keeps away the calling of an end

they say only incomplete lives fear death

but what is full and done

time is endless, we are not.

"the fall" is an acceptance ode to the season. Most writers have perceived autumn to be a melancholy atmosphere. Therefore, I am pleased that the speaker here expresses an understanding of life and death.

"they say only incomplete lives fear death"

This line stood out from the rest. It encourages the reader to analyze themselves; the ability to measure their personal success. Frankly, we not feel ready when death peers its ominous head.

Nice work, my friend!
