Day to Day

Day to Day

A Poem by Jordan A. Wilson

operating on auto pilot.
going through the motions.
functioning.
not out of will or motivation,
but out of pure happenstance.
high,
like too many doses of balloon helium.
high, or my perception of it.
but not the good kind.
the kind where you feel detached.
the kind where you hover above the ground
and float listlessly from one functional task
to the next.

never been high before, i don't know what it's like. that's where the irony and angst lies steeped in sarcasm.

I know the feeling of this poem. Easy to fall into a regular movement of life and become lost in useless tasks. Good description allowed the reader to feel the life falling to auto pilot. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.

I really enjoyed it. A diffrent, unique, kinda mathematical view, smart is what im trying to say. Espically the use of the words "happenstance" and "listlessly". Two words rarely seen in poetry but fit so well here. Great work
