Palace of Sweets

Palace of Sweets

A Poem by Abbie
"

I wrote this right after I had a mix of the following:red vines, junior caramels, Charleston chews, sour patch kids, sour patch kids watermelon, skittles, M&M's, and a lot of other kinds of candy.

"
King Sour Patch sits atop his
candy corn throne,
With his queen of chocolate
Who's all his own

Their palace made
Fully of candy,
Its construction is
Really quite handy.

Made of billions of gumdrops
Of every color,
Even of Mt. Everest
It is much taller.

Heaps of licorice
Red and black,
Line the streets
Without a single crack.

The candy people
live in such peace,
that they believe they
don't even need police.

But to the sugar-coated world
of the Palace of Sweets
When the children find you,
You will be good eats!

I know this is probably some of my worst writing (and I was on a sugar high while I was writing this :P), but please review anyways! :D Oh, and I don't own any of the candy names, like sour patch kids. I just used them in the writing. oh, and I know in the picture for this, the castle is made out of hard candy, but I imagine them as gumdrops. I just find them better then hard candies... :P

I think this is a cute poem! I love those candies that you listed! Especially M&M's are the best out of them all. It's fun to read sweet and funny poems like this for once and awhile. But now I'm really craving some candy now XD
Again, excellent job!

This poem is not bad at all, it is intriguing, if anything. It brings me back to the days of Kids Next Door, if anyone who may read this can understand the cartoon. I love this!

They do occasionally play it randomly, but at least where I live, it doesn't show regularly at all.

Awww. Well, I hope they play it on the 4th of July! They normally play it around holidays... :D

I liked the first stanza. It was alright for a sugar-high poem.
