GIVE ME YOUR ELIXIR

I don’t remember when I saw you first..

I don’t remember who introduced you to me first

I don’t remember when you bite me first

I never counted your legs

Your legs are always busy

I never followed your ways

Your ways are always a mystery

You are small

But too sharp is the pain you inflict

You are humble

But too deep is your lesson to explicit

Rest never, Quit never

You say in your life’s lesson

I test, I experiment, I refer

Ant, you are too tough to be common!!!

My dear stoically busy ant

I have killed a lot of your kind

Knowingly and unknowingly..

Still, I cant kill the sloth in me

Killing of your kinds..

Never kills your message of greatness..

 Work is worship..

Idle mind is the only mind in sin..

This truth pricks my conscience

When I fall prey to laziness

Just like your quick sharp injections

Those pricks leave enduring rashes

My dear stoic busy ant

Where do you come from

Where do you go to..

Whence your sun wake up

Whence your sun sets?

Tell me thy secret

That keeps you agile and vigil

Give me the elixir you take,

That keeps you young and active

Very cool write and on a very cool subject. I like to watch ants and it's amazing how something so small can actually be quite powerful. I think their actions do insight a bit of jealousy when they are so busy and we, ourselves, can fall to laziness at times. Good job.

There are many stories we can find when we watch the world around us, and thus draw inspiration and motivation, like the industry of the ant.

"My dear stoically busy ant

I enjoyed this stanza the most...I can relate to it...
usually we resent those that possess the traits we desire but don't have...
The Ant...quintessential example of "making hay while the sun shines...
industrious...relentless...seemingly tireless...focused...single-minded...
I HATE them...LOL

Have read this once and returned to read again.. It is wisdom to watch the world.. to delve into its secrets.. to understand what can keep even the smallest creature so busy at its task.. Profoundly spoken wonder...
