Your Choices

Your Choices

A Poem by snakesy_monkey

The emptiness and loneliness overwhelmes me

But I know deep down that we just can't be

I cry myself to sleep, wishing you were there

And longing for what could have been.

But I know in the deepest, darkest depths of my soul

That it just isn't right

You have an addiction that you just can't shake

And that addiction is not me.

You've made your choice

And it really hurts

I guess you aren't ready to face the truth.

You love your addiction more than you love me.

And that really hurts.

But you've made your choice

And now I've got to make mine.
