African Friend

I met my friend Emrick in this cafe over a year ago. We have shared our thoughts, beliefs and lives with each other. This simple poem is my gift to him at Christmas.

It's been only a year

since we first said hello

Though I feel like I met you

a long time ago

Our friendship and passions

we share with each other

I'm happy and honored

to call you my brother

What brought us together

surely was fate

You there in Kenya

and me in the States

We are bonded together

with passions we share

Our great love of writing

our passion for prayer

You've taught me some things

I shall never forget

I have told you some things

I will never regret

On this Christmas season

this gift I do send

Merry Christmas with love

Hi Mr.Scott, the words thank you,i'm grateful and i appreciate do not march this gift. I have never received one during christmas. This is my first christmas gift, and the best of all gifts i have ever received.
Since i met you i have learnt a lot. You took the place of my father and taught me how to tackle life.I have become a good listener by learning from you.
