Save your breath

Save your breath

A Poem by C.C. Marx
"

sick of lies and betrayal

"

My trust

You took it

Abused it

Shattered it

Stomped on it

Until it was no more.

How could I have known

That you

Would only betray me

I told you everything

Things I

Couldn’t tell another.

Your lies

Were so obvious

I should’ve seen this coming

But I was blinded

By the friendship

I thought we had.

How can you look me in the eyes?

Does your word mean nothing?

All the promises you made

Were they worthless from the start?

Lie after lie after lie

When will you stop?

Save your breath

You’ll never give me the truth.

I got that about the 4th stanza too. But I've definitely been here. Some people...you just can't believe their levels of betrayal. Excellent work.

People change when u don't even see it coming thx ur comments r always welcome here :)
Very interesting... your message comes through loud and clear. However the forth stanza implies that all is not lost while the others do. Is this intentional?

I really like this, good job!
