a story

i’ve got a dress i’ll never wear

dreams that never fly

no one to share my care

so i’ll never really try

i’ve got a burden in my heart

for the ones without a fight

so i try to play my part

running to the light

i’ve got a history to share

a path that i’ve been shown

a finger pointing there

says my life is not my own

i’ve got a friend by my side

a shield in my heart

with me stride by stride

with his wisdom to impart

i’ve got a power in my soul

a sword deep inside

he’s here so i’m whole 

his strength is my pride

 

i’ve got a story no one knows

but if they’d only ask

they’d see he fights all my foes

he completes my every task

i’ve got a GOD in my heart

i’ve got a friend my side

he helps me play my part

his strength is my pride
