Darkness Unveiled

Darkness Unveiled

A Poem by Sophy Freebirds
"

"Much anticipated encounter"

"
Tingling with elation,
At the prospect of seeing him..
Night darkens with;
Wild anticipation..

As the morning star
Kisses the horizon..
Through the restless darkness..

Her eyes closed
She pictures him
Coming towards her..
Her heart beats frantically;
Her bosom heaves breathlessly
Lips parted Passionately
As she feels his warmth
Envelope her..

She opens her eyes..
But is blinded by immense light.
She turns away remembering
The words of fate
"There can be no day without night,
They will co-exist.
But as banks of a river they can never meet.
Walking for eternity together
But cursed not to touch each other"

Day whispers to her to stay..
But darkness slowly ebbs away....

The anticipation of love can thrilling....and heartbreaking.

"As the morning star
Kisses the horizon..
Through the restless darkness.."

This stanza sets up the heartbreak beautifully. It is an elegant and moving poem. I suppose we all come to a time where we desperately love someone who will forever be out of reach.

Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you friend ;)
Sophy, have you revised this one... it seems a little different since my first review... even better! The whole thing flows so smoothly now and I'm sure the ending has been touched up. Wow! I thought it was quite good before, but now it's way better now! If my memory is failing--just shoot me...

Yea.. may be.. ;) glad you feel that way
This is pretty visionary poetry. I find it comes alive in a way that I don't often experience reading words. It's romantic without being silly.

Pretty nice. A good rhythm and a strong poetic voice. Maybe a little unoriginal though.

Thank you for your kind review... :)
Amazing! It goes perfectly with your previous poem. Reading the initial parts one breathes heavy and towards the end it gets breathless and one asks why it had to end so sad. Great write. Loved it. :)
