Going home

Going home

A Poem by Soren

I watch you breathing in the night

I know that tomorrow I will not be here

Now it's time to turn out the light

I'll miss the warmth of when you were near

Past tenderness eroded by tears

unseen, now dried they leave no stain

Sobs muffled by blankets of years

Scar over scar that still feels pain

Thank you Andrew for the read and perceptive interpretation of this poem. It is deeply appreciated.
The invisible scars hurt the most sometimes, when no-one knows how deep they run.

Years make no difference to what id foremost in our memory ..

you are welcome Soren, grief is an underestimated emotion sometimes..
When death of a loved one is near, not many of us are prepared for this....when it comes, we grieve, some more, some less, but the memory of that fatal day sticks to our bones with pain for a long time... even when grief turns to scars, the agony remains ,some forever, some can move on....
Poignant piece;
Warmly, B
