Mascara Rivers

Mascara Rivers

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

As black rivers of tears flow down a porcelain face,

And as red lips mutter the same prayer of pain…

The moon ignores all cries and hopes,

Leaving them all to crash on a boulevard of broken dreams,

And blood, and blood, and blood.

As red rivers flow down porcelain wrists,

And as a hot heart cools down without second thoughts…

The sun hides away behind lead clouds…

Leaving all innocents die in despair,

And cry, and cry, and cry.

beautiful and elegant use of this imagery. It rings true as coming through the filter of {your} particular mind, if ya know what I mean.

-Leaving them all to crash on a boulevard of broken dreams,

And blood, and blood, and blood.

A torrent of emotions in this one. Images of the powerful forgetting about the meek, and letting them suffer a long and agonizing death.

Your imagery is powerful, and this conveys a strong message of the pain so many must feel, as they are let down and forgotten in the storms that we call life.

Great write!
