Old Lion

Old Lion

A Poem by spoils
"

memory and reality

"

Old Lion

the blood of an old lion still burns

hot as the youngest stalking male=s.

remembered conflicts are no less real,

shut behind memory=s closing door

his pride now, is a feeling not a family.

Even alone, he feels no emptiness.

living in the reality of his dreams,

waiting to snarl in the face of death.
