two faces

two faces

A Poem by Daisy Ackerman

i love you in the way the breeze

the biting breeze

grazes the surface of leaves, not intimate but

a little too close

familiar grazing like the the touch of children

scratching

chasing laughing even if we are not

straight faces

and you’re the tingling warmth after

reddened cheeks

escaping the biting wind but we are the wind

biting words

too at least you make me feel that way i am

cold

perpetually sitting in the sun on an autumn day

sitting for too long

leaves spiraling to the ground around us and

falling

i dont really care about anything but saying

dont care

what will make you laugh the most until i am alone

i cant be alone

the leaves are constantly playing shadow puppets

shadows

in the light dappling the soft grass of the clearing in

emptiness

which my heart rests when i am with you.

Very nice, i like this one a lot. The first couple of lines convey absolutely brilliant imagery.

I like that line---- grazes the surface of leaves, not intimate but
a little too close
familiar grazing like the the touch of children.

I didn't really get the whole poem, but I don't get a lot of poetry.
I could however feel the passion in your writing and liked it.

Good luck.
